Sisir Sahana is one of the few artists in the country with a dedicated practice in glass art. Known for his large glass sculptures and paneled relief works. He has done a lot of commissioned works for contemporary buildings of glass, and related to geometric architecture. Sisir tries to build on what he see around, and not borrow, or be influenced by “exotic” ideas. His pictorial depictions consist mainly of images and scenes from nature, caring and responsive human faces. His sculptures combine these elements in free-floating dream-like forms, and rural village motifs.
