Suvajit Samanta

born 1976, Passed BFA from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata 2001 & MFA from I.K.S. University, Khairagarh, C.G. 2003.
Suvajit has been working on the theme “Harmony of Nature” since 2001 and created a series of sculptures on the same. Suvajit is extremely aware of our responsibility as global citizens.  He wishes to create awareness regarding our responsibility to save and conserve our environment through his works. He feels that we are the only component of nature who are greedy and desirous and his sculptures which revolve around such themes.

Suvajit is a recipient of the Akademi Scholarship by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 2003-04. Some exhibitions that he has participated in are “Visual Synthesis” By Janus Art Gallery at Shridharani Art Gallery, New Delhi. 2013 / “SATURDAY THE LAST” org. His works can be found in private collections in UK, Holland, Austria, USA, NIV Art Centre New Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi and many private collections in India abroad.
