Krishna Trivedi

Krishna Trivedi has done her Bachelor of Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Vadodara and Masters in Fine Arts from M S University, Baroda.
Her works mainly deal with objects from her mundane life and memories related to the objects. Her visual language has strong influence of tribal and folk traditions. Apart from images, surface making is an important aspect of her works. She likes to experiment with various types of paper to create various surfaces and embossing of forms. She uses various materials like rice paper, tissue paper, cloth etc. for surface making. Her works also contains translucent materials, which allows her to create over-lapping of images. A repetition of motifs defines the language of her works. She tries to depict in her work, stories. Folk tales and wall paintings traditions in tribal cults like Pithora and Mithila has a great impact on her works.
Krishna has been a part of 3 workshops and many shows like the 2014 Gandharvapur artist village shown at Faculty of Fine Arts Gallery, Vadodara 2012, Vibrant Gujarat at exhibition hall MSU 2014, Shared spaces at Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Vadodara 2013, Travelling journeys at Shimisha Artist Studios, Vadodara 2013, Gujarat Lalit Kala academy Ahmedabad 2012, Gujarat Lalit Kala Academy Ahmedabad 2011. She has received awards at the 4th place vibrant Gujarat, national painting competition at MSU, Vadodara 2014 and the Gujarat Lalit Kala Academy, Ahmedabad 2013.
Krishna lives and works in Baroda.
